Connect an MCP client

The same standards-based endpoint works with Claude, Cowork, Codex, ChatGPT, and other MCP clients.

  1. Connect at least one organization. Choose read-only or read-write Xero permissions.
  2. Add a custom MCP connector in your client using https://xero-connector.meridian.pilot.com/mcp.
  3. Review the authorization screen. It names the client and explains that the grant covers organizations connected later.
  4. Verify safely. Ask: “List my connected Xero organizations.”

Do not paste Xero passwords or API tokens into an MCP client. Authentication always happens through this connector and Xero’s authorization page.
